Cautions, Contraindications & Usage
Use with caution in Yin deficiency. Cang er zi/xanthium is very drying, and excess use may result in dry mucus membranes. Use with caution during pregnancy. May be used for a few weeks to a few months. If administered alone for acute symptoms, it is usually taken up to a couple of weeks. It is often administered along with a constitutional formula for a few months to treat chronic nasal problems or allergies.
