Pe Min Kan Wan

Pe Min Kan Wan or Nasal Allergy Pill is a powerful formula used for what Traditional Chinese Herbalist would call a wind heat pattern that is obstructing the nasal passages. This would present with an excess amount of nasal discharge that is either watery and clear or white, or thick and yellow or green. This could present with associated sinus pain, frontal or sinus headache, dizziness, sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, heat and redness around the sinus cavities, earache or congestion, cough and wheezing. This formula is also useful for relief of allergy attacks or when a common cold is coming on.

Pe Min Kan Wan is especially effective for nasal or lung problems with an allergic component. It works dispersing wind, clearing heat, expelling toxins, transforming phlegm and unblocking the sinus passages. This formula can be taken for sudden attacks of sinus, ear or lung problems, but should be stopped immediately upon relief. Usually Yin Deficient patterns can be seen with these problems, but not always. If these patterns are chronically occurring a Chinese Herbalist should be enlisted to help with the underlying base/root patterns causing the initial distress, presenting as the branch problems.
